Mountain Express: Wolverine Sighting Near Ketchum

Fewer than 300 wolverines are estimated to live in the contiguous United States.

The Hugh Jackman jokes can now begin. There has been a rare wolverine sighting near Ketchum.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports that a photo of the rare wolverine was caught by a motion-activated camera in the Sawtooth National Forest.

Fewer than 300 wolverines are estimated to exist in the contiguous United States.

The nonprofit Defenders of Wildlife has set up several camera in the region to track wolf activity in the Wood River Valley, but the cameras have also snapped photos of elk, deer, bears, cougars, coyotes, foxes, martens and antelope.
