Posted By on Tue, Jul 23, 2013 at 9:19 AM

Hate your job? Pity the employees of the "worst companies to work for," at least according to Glassdoor, which scores over 250,000 companies on a scale of one to five. 24/7 Wall St. identified nine publicly traded companies that received scores of 2.5 or lower.

Four of the nine were retail: Dillards, Dollar General Corporation, RadioShack and Sears.

The majority of the others are in the installation/repair business: ADT, NCR and DISH.

According to the analysis, employees of the poorly-rated companies have some pretty low opinions of senior management. The average CEO rating across the companies measured by Glassdoor is 69 percent. The majority of the worst-reviewed companies had CEO approval ratings of 40 percent of less. Dillard's CEO came in at 23 percent; Sears CEO had 19 percent approval.

According to 24/7 Wall St., "these are America's worst companies to work for:" 1. Dish, 2. Express Scripts, 3. Dillards, 4. Dollar General, 5. RadioShack, 6. ADT, 7. Sears, 8. NCR, 9. Fiserv.
