Tamarack Village Auction Rescheduled for Sept. 5

The on-again, off-again sheriff's auction of property and construction materials, once intended to become the shuttered Tamarack Village Plaza, is back on again.

Thursday, Sept. 5 is the latest date scheduled for the Valley County Sheriff's sale of the Village Plaza and the unfinished wing of the Lodge at Osprey Meadows. The auction will be held at the Valley County Courthouse in Cascade.

In 2007, the Tamarack Resort, just outside of Donnelly, had experienced half-a-billion dollars in real estate sales and the ski runs were being hailed as some of the best in North America. But what once promised to be one of the finest resorts on the planet ended up in bankruptcy, with half-finished buildings and a bench warrant for former Tamarack owner, and still-missing, Jean-Pierre Boespflug.

An auction of the unfinished Tamarack village had originally been slated for July 16, but one of the creditors, the Banner/Sabey construction company which is owed $13 million, asked for the original date to be postponed. But the McCall Star-News reports that an attorney for the construction company is prepared to move forward with the sale.

Prospective buyers will be expected to pay cash.
