Candidates Begin Filing For November Election

Today officially launches the 2013 run up to the Tuesday, Nov. 5, election, where municipalities will the focus of campaigns throughout the Treasure Valley.

In Boise, City Councilman TJ Thomson didn't waste anytime by filing for re-election. He included images of his Declaration and Petition of Candidacy on his Facebook page early today. Thomson also has scheduled his re-leection kickoff party for this evening at Downtown Boise's Chandi Lighting Studio. In campaign literature, Thomson has promised that Boise Mayor Dave Bieter will be in attendance.

Also up for re-election this fall are Boise City Council President Maryanne Jordan and Councilman Ben Quintana.

Other races of note this November will be in Eagle, which will choose two council members; Garden City, where there will be a race for Mayor and two council seats; Meridian, which will have four council run offs; Kuna, where there will be two council seats up for grabs; and Star, which will see elections for two council seats.

In Canyon County, the seats for mayor for both Caldwell and Nampa will be up for election.
