UPDATE: October 7, 2013 5 p.m.

As Boise Police officers were cleaning up the scene of one serious accident at Federal Way near Broadway, law enforcement was called to another Monday afternoon rush hour accident.

Police said it appeared that the driver of a white Toyoa sedan parked adjacent to the sidewalk of a LDS church at McMillan Road near Shamrock Avenue unintentionally accelerated into a large crowd of people just leaving a funeral.

9 people were taken to three area hospitals, six transported by private ambulance. Two of the victims appeared to suffer serious injuries, including a 5-year-old boy, but police said the injuries were not life threatening.

The driver of the car was an elderly male and did not appear to be injured. But a female passenger in the driver's car was one of those injured.

Emergency responders are on the scene of yet another serious vehicle versus bicycle collision, this time at Federal Way and Broadway Avenue.

Boise Police say a 4-door sport utility vehicle collided with an adult male bicycle rider at the intersection as the vehicle was attempting to turn East onto Federal Way from the Broadway off ramp. The bicycle was also pulling a small trailer.

According to police the victim appeared to have serious life threatening injuries, but the extent of the injuries were unknown.

An investigation continues as police blocked off eastbound traffic on Federal Way. Motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible. Roads were expected to be closed for up to two hours.
