Boise Police Warn of New Hallucinogen 25c

In the shadow of two recent overdoses where two 16-year-olds ingested a new synthetic drug, Boise Police are warning citizens that they should be aware of of a drug known as 25c, closely related to 25i, with a street name of N-BOME.

Both teens suffered seizures and required hospitalization.

"These synthetic drugs are not safe," said Lieutenant P.D. Burch of the Boise Police Narcotics Unit. "These chemicals have caused deaths around the nation. We're just beginning to see it here and it's already caused several overdoses including one where the teen nearly died."

Boise Police say the hallucinogen is being sold in Boise with claims that it is similar to LSD. It can be manufactured and is often in powder form. It can be inhaled, injected or snorted.

25i can also go by the names Dime, 25C or DOB.

The Drug Enforcement Administration considers 25i similar to LSD and therefore illegal in all 50 states. At this time, no Idaho law specifically bans the active ingredient.
