Police, Probation and Parole Officers Will Conduct Sex-Offender Compliance Checks Tonight

Posted By on Thu, Oct 31, 2013 at 9:43 AM

Law enforcement across Idaho will be working the night shift this evening as they check on registered sex offenders while trick-or-treaters are going door-to-door.

Local police agencies are expected to be working with the Idaho Department of Correction Probation and Parole offices to conduct compliance checks to make certain that probationers and parolees are following specific rules, such as turning off porch lights, not having Halloween decorations, handing out candy or sitting on front porches or stairs. Traditionally, sex offenders are barred from these activities from 5 p.m. Halloween night until the next morning.
