The big election night headline in Canyon County was the defeat of Tom Dale after 12 years as Nampa mayor.

Challenger Bob Henry was victorious in a narrow race, garnering 44.89 percent of the vote compared to Dale's 43.45 percent. Henry's margin of victory was just 113 votes. Henry, currently on the Nampa City Council, will now give up his seat on the Council and is expected to hand-pick his successor.

Henry's campaign platform was all about taxes, saying Nampa needed to lower what he called the highest levy rate in the Treasure Valley.

In the city of Caldwell, incumbent Mayor Garret Nancolas easily won re-election with 65 percent of the vote compared to challenger Paul Alldredge's 35 percent.

In the community of Greenleaf, Brad Holton won the race for mayor, securing 58 percent of the vote to challenger Dee Ann Watson's 42 percent.
