Police: Idaho Burglar Targeted Families Attending Funerals

A Blackfoot woman is behind bars facing burglary charges after police said she targeted families attending funerals.

Pocatello's KIDK-TV reports that 35-year-old Julie Breed is suspected of scouring obituaries to see when families might be out of their homes. Prosecutors said that's when she chose her targets. In addition to four counts of burglary, Breed was charged with possession of a controlled substance for stealing prescription drugs from at least one home.

"We worked together yesterday, and we caught her in someone else's home, taking prescription medication," said Bingham County Sheriff Craig Rowland, adding that one of his deputies told him that he head seen Breed in action before. "He didn't think anything of it until we'd arrested her and he saw her picture. He said, 'Oh, that lady was at my neighbor's house when they were having his funeral.'"
