Video of Joe Southwick to KTVB-7: 'I Want to Clear My Name'

Boise State senior Joe Southwick will be spending Christmas Eve at home, watching the team that he once led play in the Hawaii Bowl.

And Southwick says it's not fair.

In an exclusive interview with KTVB-7, Southwick said he was anxious to "clear my name" and "clear the name of my parents."

The former quarterback of the Broncos was sent home from Hawaii for what Boise State officials said was a "violation of team rules." Southwick said he's accused of urinating off a balcony at the team's Hawaii hotel. He also said he didn't do it; it was another player. But his teammates saw it differently.

"it ended up being three people against one person saying something," Southwick told KTVB-7. "And I guess the temper tantrum of one person didn't look good and there was no investigation. This was an absolute rushed decision, probably made in about 20 minutes."

Southwick said he tried to contact Boise State administrators shortly after he was dropped off at the airport in Hawaii, asking for an investigation, but to no avail.

Southwick also said he would even be willing to share the results of a polygraph test concerning the matter.

"It's really disappointing that it came to this," he told KTVB-7.
