Star-News: Valley County Jail Worker Accuses Supervisor of Bullying, Harassment

A former employee of the Valley County Sheriff's Office, who said that she was the victim of "harassing and bullying behavior" in an effort to force her to quit, has filed a claim against the county, asking for $100,000.

This morning's McCall Star-News reports that Diana Elliott, who worked as a cook at the Valley County Jail in Cascade, says she was fired after filing several complaints against her supervisor, Sgt. David Snyder. The claim says that Valley County Sheriff Patti Bolen told Elliott that her position had been replaced by a food service contractor and that she was free to apply for a position with the contractor, according to the Star-News.

The claim also says that county officials told the Idaho Department of Labor that Elliott had voluntarily quit her job so she was not eligible for unemployment. When Elliot appealed, the labor department reversed the earlier decision and Elliot was eligible for jobless benefits.
