And Now There Are Seven: One More Idahoan to Compete in Sochi Olympics

With only 10 days before the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, you can add one more Idahoan to Team USA.

Erik Fisher, 28, of Middleton got word Jan. 26 that he'll be competing in the Olympics in both the downhill and super combined competitions, beginning Sunday, Feb. 9. Fisher is a former team member of Bogus Basin's Mighty Mights.

Fisher is joining six other Gem State athletes on Team USA, including:

Nick Cunningham (Boise State student) — Bobsled — Competition begins Sunday, Feb. 16

Kaitlyn Farrington (Bellevue native) — Snowboard Halfpipe — Competition begins Monday, Feb. 10

Nate Holland (Sandpoint native) — Snowboardcross — Competition begin Monday, Feb. 17

Jessika Jensen (Rigby resident) — Slopestyle — Competition begins Thursday, Feb. 6

Hilary Knight (Sun Valley) — Women's Hockey — Competition begins Saturday, Feb. 8

Sara Studebaker (Boise native) — Biathlon — Competition begins Sunday, Feb. 9
