Boise Co-op Moves Forward With Plans to Open Second Store

Posted By on Wed, Mar 5, 2014 at 2:40 PM

The Boise Co-op, which has seen new competitors—namely, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's—come into Boise in the last 18 months in attempts to take some of the Co-op's foothold, announced today that it has signed a long-term lease on its North End location through 2036.

Additionally, the Co-op announced that it is moving forward with its plans to open a second Treasure Valley store.

"We are excited about the opportunity to expand our reach in the Treasure Valley," said Co-op Board Chair T.J. Stevens, though there is yet to be a specific site yet selected for the second store.

Co-op officials say they've established a real-estate committee to lead the process of finding a second location.

Founded in 1973, the Boise Co-op has resided at its current Fort Street location since 1995 and boasts 25,000 active members.
