An Idaho couple, wanted in connection with an incident involving a stolen pickup and hit-and-run, are reportedly hospitalized in Western Oregon following a shootout with police near Medford, Ore.

Law enforcement from Idaho's Bonneville and Jefferson counties were on the lookout for Wayne Pearson and Shavon Willard (Webb) following a Feb. 27 incident near Rigby, where they allegedly stole a vehicle and tried to run a sheriff's deputy off the road before driving away.

KIFI-TV reports that officers from several jurisdictions, including the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the U.S. Marshals Service, were following a truck linked to the pair. Police tried to set up spike strips near Medford, Ore., but the truck reportedly accelerated and hit a police vehicle. That's when police reportedly opened fire on the vehicle. KIFI-TV reports that the two were taken to a local hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. Police said an officer also suffered minor injuries.
