Add the Worlds 'Leadership Training' Set for Multiple Idaho Cities

Following the adjournment of the 2014 Idaho Legislature—during which Add the Words advocates were arrested on several occasions while pleading with lawmakers to extend LGBT protections in the Idaho Human Rights Act—the cause will now go on the road. So-called Add the Word "leadership trainings" will be held in a series of Idaho communities, beginning today.

"I will go wherever I'm needed so that local people can learn how to peacefully, silently, respectfully and effectively let their lawmakers know that their inaction this session was not acceptable," wrote Add the Words organizer Joe Kibbe.

Add the Words leadership training is set for Moscow on Sunday, with future trainings set for Idaho Falls, McCall, Pocatello and Twin Falls. The intention is to "focus on how local leaders can best get their message to lawmakers," according to a statement from Add the Words.

"I'm excited to see what amazing ideas people have for getting Idaho's senators and representatives to finally say our lives matter to them and that it's just not OK to fire us, evict us, or deny us service and care anymore," wrote Add the Words organizer Emily Shannon.
