Boise Police: Three Teens Accused in Dozens of Graffiti Incidents, Including Houses, Schools, Businesses

Three teenage boys, ages 13 and 14, are facing possible felony charges after Boise Police say they linked the teens to dozens of instances of graffiti, causing nearly $38,000 in damages.

An investigation, involving Boise Police neighborhood contact officers, school resources officers and a property crimes detective with the Ada County Sheriff's Office has resulted in identifying the teens, who have been released to the custody of their parents. Officers have sent their reports to the Ada County juvenile prosecutors, recommending charges of felony injury to property.

In all, police said the teens were responsible for 33 reports of graffiti on private and public property, including small businesses, schoosl, private homes, fences, signs, trees and playground equipment. The alleged vandalism included spray painted "tags" and "slap tagging," using stickers marked with tags "slapped onto surfaces. The tags include initials, symbols and other images.

Police said the damage totaled $38,704.
