Goose Knocks Out Power, Tangles Morning Commute

Posted By on Wed, Apr 16, 2014 at 11:34 AM

It was tricky driving in Downtown Boise's core this morning as a power outage knocked out traffic lights from First Street to Capitol Boulevard (east to west) and Grove Street to Washington Street (north to south). Power was restored by approximately 8:30 a.m.

Idaho Power officials said the outage was triggered when a goose flew into power lines on Third Street.

A similar incident occurred March 13 when a goose got into some power lines, knocking out power from Grove Street to Julia Davis Park and Broadway Avenue to Capitol Boulevard.
