Boise Police say the driver of a pickup truck was looking for oncoming traffic, but did not notice a pedestrian in the walkway before striking the pedestrian this morning at the intersection of Ninth and Front streets.

The accident, which occurred at 6:49 a.m., sent the pedestrian to a nearby hospital. Police said the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening and the collision happened at a very low speed.

The driver of the pickup, a woman from Boise, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, an infraction, which carries a possible fine of $90.

Police said the pickup was traveling westbound on Front Street, turning south onto Ninth Street, when it hit the pedestrian, a 40-something man from Meridian who was crossing north on Ninth street.
