Still Another Idaho Poaching Incident

Posted By on Mon, May 19, 2014 at 1:19 PM

In 2013, Idaho poachers killed 30 elk, four moose, 13 mule deer and 57 whitetail deer; and an Idaho Fish and Game conservation officer told the Lewiston Tribune last week that, "If wolves killed as many deer, elk and other wildlife as poachers, citizens would take action."

And the pace has remained steady this year, with the latest incident being reported on Long Gulch Road, just north of Prairie. That's where IDFG reports a calf elk had been shot and left to waste.

IDFG officials are hoping for the public's support in finding those responsible for the incident.

Anyone with information can call the Nampa office of Fish and Game at 208-465-8465, the Idaho State Police at 208-846-7550 or Citizens Against Poaching, which mans a 24/7 hot line at 1-800-632-5999.
