Boise Weekly recently visited ACHD's Traffic Management Center, where engineers, aided by a computerized smartscreen and 115 stop light-mounted cameras, coordinate with law enforcement, medical, fire and other service personnel to mitigate traffic. TMC engineers have a bird's-eye-view of Boise's controversial bike lane pilot project.

One of that project's biggest boosters is Boise Bike Share Program Director Dave Fotsch. During a conversation with BW about BBSP, which is now slated to launch in 2015, Fotsch shared some details on projected fees for using a BBSP bike for a day, a month or a year:

Day pass: $5

Annual membership: $75, not including discounts for students, the military, the elderly or other populations.

30 day pass: $30-$35

Fotsch told BW that he's also working with companies around town to arrange for reduced cost memberships for employees who wish to commute by using BBSP bikes, but wasn't yet ready to disclose which companies he's negotiating with or what those discounts might be.
