UPDATE: Student Shot, Killed at Troutdale, Ore., High School

UPDATE 11:07 a.m.: 

The Oregonian reports that the active shooter situation at a Troutdale, Ore., high school has stabilized, and police are saying a single shooter, now confirmed dead by police, entered the school, shot and killed a student.

The shooting took place at approximately 8:07 a.m. in a gym locker room. Initial reports indicated a teacher had been shot and that there were multiple shooters, but police are only confirming the shooting death of a student, and that the lone shooter, who has not been identified, is also dead.

From across the Portland metropolitan area, police are responding to reports of a shooting at Reynolds High School in nearby Troutdale, Ore., The Oregonian reports

According to parents who had been briefed by the police, three shooters were involved in a first period gym class shooting of a teacher in the high school's locker room. The teacher was injured and taken from the school on a stretcher. As yet it's unclear if there are more victims or if more shots were fired in the incident.

At least one of the shooters fled the scene with a gun and was found at a nearby church. One of the shooters has been confirmed dead by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., evacuation of the school had begun and students were reportedly exiting the school with their arms over their heads. Less than five minutes later, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents had arrived on the scene and parents had been alerted that they could meet their children at a grocery store close by.
