Barber Park Extends Hours for Fourth of July

Posted By on Fri, Jul 4, 2014 at 12:49 PM

For those deciding to stick around for the Fourth of July weekend, Epley's Boise River Rentals and Ada County Parks and Waterways are extending holiday hours for July 4.

Parking at Barber Park opened at 10 a.m. and rental services will be available until 6 p.m. The river shuttle service begins at Ann Morrison Park at 1 p.m., returning every 20 minutes. The final shuttle will depart at 7 p.m. No 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. shuttle will be scheduled due to the planned Fourth of July celebration at Ann Morrison Park.

Remember, the river is cold and swift, flowing at nearly 1,500 cubic feet per second. Ada County would like to advise floaters to wear well-fitted personal flotation devices and plenty of sunscreen. Officials remind river users that alcohol and glass containers are prohibited.
