Wildfires Threaten North-Central Idaho

Posted By on Tue, Aug 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM

Residents living in rural North-Central Idaho, southwest of Grangeville, have been ordered to be evacuated ahead of wildfires threatening the region.

And fire swept through a pellet production facility just outside of Grangeville overnight.  Firefighters battled the flames at the Rocky Mountain Pellet Company through much of the evening.

Meanwhile, residents about 25 miles south of Lewiston have been told to be prepared to evacuate as the 19,000 acre Big Cougar wildfire grows in size.

Hotshot crews, engines, tankers and helitacks have all been dispatched to the region.
