The Last 'Ping': Dozens Continue the Search for Lucius Robbi

The Boise County Sheriff's Office says the last "ping" from Lucius Robbi's cellphone came somewhere near the Banks to Lowman highway, so law enforcement and citizens are focusing their search for the 21-year-old college student along the winding, and often steep, Highway 17 to Highway 21 corridor.

The young California man has not been seen or heard from Tuesday, Aug. 19, when he set off for the University of Montana campus in Missoula from Horseshoe Bend, where he had been working as a summer guide for a rafting company. Robbi told his colleagues at Cascade Raft and Kayak that he was hoping to camp that evening but be in Missoula by the following day.

Robbi's parents flew to Idaho to join the search that has included dozens of volunteers and law enforcement officers fanning out across the route, which borders the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.

Planes and helicopters have been flying over the area for nearly a week to assist in the search.

Meanwhile, the Boise County Sheriff's Office says hundreds of tips have come in to their department.
