Investigators say they're not considering the incident to be a hate crime yet, but a Muslim community in Eastern Idaho is urging two women to pursue charges after being verbally assaulted at a local retailer.

KIDK-TV is reporting that the incident occurred Oct. 19 at a Walmart in Chubbuck. That's where two women said that they were confronted by a man who called them "terrorists," and told them to "get out of his country."

Witnesses said the women tried to walk away from the man who repeatedly harassed the the women until a store manager intervened.

The Chubbuck Police Department told KIDK-TV that the women chose not to pursue any charges against the men.

"That's one thing that is very serious to us, and in this situation, whether we agree with one or either party, they each had their protected rights," Chubbuck Police Lt. Bill Guiberson, who added that in order for the situation to be considered a hate crime, the man had to have verbally threatened the women and/or physically assaulted them. But he also added that the man could have been readily charged with disturbing the peace or disorderly conduct.

Meanwhile, witnesses were able to identify the man and officials with the Muslim community said they were considering filing for a restraining order against the man "to protect all Muslim women in the community."
