Alleged Serial Bank Robber Nabbed in Eastern Idaho

Posted By on Sun, Nov 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM

When Randy Jordan walked into an Eastern Idaho credit union Saturday, employees didn't take any chances. They immediately evacuated the building before Jordan made contact with anyone. Jordan was suspected of robbing the same Idaho State University Credit Union in July and law enforcement say he's also wanted in connection with other bank robberies and was considered armed and dangerous.

But his latest visit to the ISUCU was his undoing. He was taken into custody nine hours later.

This morning's Idaho State Journal reports that the 44-year-old Jordan was taken into custody in a Pocatello restaurant without a struggle.

The State Journal reports that when Jordan walked into the ISUCU just before noon on Saturday, an employee pushed a silent alarm, and escorted two other tellers out a back door of the building. But Jordan fled on foot before Chubbock police arrived on the scene.

On Saturday night, Jordan was arrested and taken to the a local police station. He was expected to be transported to the Bannock County Jail this morning.

In addition to Saturday's charges, Jordan is already facing federal indictments for bank robberies in Coeur d'Alene on Oct. 4, an Ogden, Utah, robbery on Aug. 7 and a previous Chubbuck robbery on July 26.
