Feds: Polygraph.com Owner Training Criminals to Lie

The owner of the website polygraph.com is being accused of training customers how to lie and conceal crimes during polygraph tests. Former law enforcement officer Douglas Williams is charged with federal obstruction of justice and mail fraud.

The 69-year-old Williams, a former Oklahoma City police officer, was hit with a five-count federal indictment. Prosecutors say he's been marketing his services to people who need to appear for polygraph examinations before federal law enforcement agencies and people required to take polygraphs as terms of their parole or probation. Prosecutors say Williams trained his clients to lie and conceal involvement in criminal activity.

Williams is a public critic of polygraphs. On his website, he calls them "insidious Orwellian instrument[s] of torture" that are neither reliable nor accurate. Williams claims on his website to have administered thousands of polygraphs for the Oklahoma City Police Department, the FBI, the Secret Service and claims to have advised two U.S. presidents.
