ACHD Seeks Public Input on Bench-Access Bike Lane Projects

Posted By on Tue, Nov 25, 2014 at 3:25 PM

The Ada County Highway District wants your help.

The public is being encouraged to participate in an ACHD poll - which is live until Friday, December 12 - designed to gauge public reaction to the prospect of continuous sidewalks and bike lanes along Americana Boulevard and Emerald Street between Orchard Street and Ann Morrison Park.

Other aspects of the project include conducting a traffic study to determine whether the corridor can support car traffic demand in the event that building sidewalks and bike lanes requires a reduction in the number of automobile traffic lanes.

According to a schedule on the ACHD website, traffic analyses and the public survey will be conducted this year, with project concepts being developed in early 2015. After a public open house, at which the public can provide feedback on the project, the project will be taken to the ACHD Commission for approval or disapproval sometime in the spring of 2015.

The survey is available here.
