Police Blotter: Hit and Run and Felony DUI on the Interstate

Boise Police have sent two suspects to the Ada County Jail, one charged with felony DUI and the other with a hit-and-run sending to a pedestrian to the hospital.

The hit-and-run took place in a late night hour of Nov. 21 at the intersection of North Maple Grove and West Ustick roads. That's where a 17-year-old woman was struck by a sedan which allegedly ran a red light and struck the pedestrian as she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk. One witness was able to follow the suspect's vehicle and provide a detailed description. And Boise Police were able to serve a warrant for the suspect's arrest early this morning.

53-year-old Jinzhuang Huang of Boise was charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of an injury crash. If found guilty, the suspect faces a maximum penalty of a $5,000 fine and/or up to five years behind bars.

Boise Police also report that they witnessed a vehicle not maintaining its traffic lane on the westbound I-84 Thursday night. The driver of the vehicle failed a field sobriety test and had been previous been convicted of DUI in 2006.

47-year-old Matthew Erickson of Meridian was charged with felony DUI.
