Christmas Eve Homicide in Caldwell

Posted By on Thu, Dec 25, 2014 at 10:32 AM

Tragedy marred Christmas Eve in Canyon County as law enforcement confirmed that one person had been killed and two more injured following an assault in Caldwell.

Caldwell police are spending their Christmas Day investigating the incident on the 2000 block of Rice Avenue. They're being assisted in the investigation by the Canyon County Sheriff's Office. Initial reports from the scene indicate that the three victims were attacked at the Rice Avenue address but got into a car and drove to an area near Third Street in Caldwell. That's where they flagged down a motorist, who called 911.

When Caldwell police arrived on the scene, at approximately 6 p.m. on Dec. 24, they discovered a 22-year-old man with severe injuries. That man died a short time later. Two other men, a 25-year-old and a 20-year-old, were rushed to a local hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

A number of people have already been interviewed in connection with the stabbings.
