According Blue Bell's website, this is "the first product recall in the company's 108-year history."

The Food and Drug Administration said Friday it had been notified that Listeria bacteria was found in samples of Blue Bell products. The contamination was traced to a machine used for making ice cream sandwiches and other frozen products. The machine is now off-line.
