Idaho Power's Man on the Inside

Posted on Fri, Nov 2, 2007 at 4:00 AM

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's chief of staff, Jeff Malmen, is off to work for Idaho Power.

Channel 8 in Idaho Falls had the AP wire up first.

Malmen's job wasn't open long. Otter's office announced that Micron's director of government affairs, Jason Kreizenbeck will take over as chief of staff at the end of the month.

The announcement came as Otter was traveling in China on his latest international trade mission.

Kreizenbeck has been working for Micron since 1999, after years spent in the realm of politics including work on Rep. Mike Simpson's 1998 campaign. He also served as field director for Gov. Phil Batt's 1994 campaign, and later as Batt's policy and legislative adviser on natural resources and environmental policy.
