Jaquet Backs Obama

Idaho might be a dyed-in-the-wool red state, but that hasn’t stopped some national Democratic Party presidential players from picking up some support.

House Minority Leader Wendy Jaquet, D-Ketchum, has officially backed Sen. Barack Obama, according to the Web site

Jaquet’s endorsement is the most prominent in the state to date, and puts her in the ranks of fellow state lawmakers Sen. Edgar Malepeai, D-Pocatello, Assistant House Minority Leader Rep. George Sayler, D-Coeur d’Alene, Rep. Nicole LeFavour, D-Boise, Rep. Les Bock, D-Boise and Rep. James Ruchti, D-Pocatello.

It’s good news for the Obama campaign, which opened a regional campaign office in Boise earlier this fall. If the expenditure and endorsements pay off, will have to wait to be seen.
