GOP Gets New Director

Posted By on Wed, Feb 6, 2008 at 4:00 AM

Idaho's Republican Party has a new leader.

Sid Smith, Boise-based press secretary for the embattled Sen. Larry Craig, was named the new executive director of the Idaho Republican Party, according to the Spokesman-Review.

Smith, who has worked for Craig for six years, takes the place of Jayson Ronk, who left the office unexpectedly last December.

Smith's hands have been full since Craig's bathroom-sex scandal broke, but he's looking to the future. He's schedule to start his new job in a week.
