Ski Your Blues Away

Posted By on Tue, Dec 23, 2008 at 4:00 AM

So, your big holiday travel plans got grounded thanks to the inundation of snow across the country. Drown your woes in fresh powder.

Bogus Basin got another 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight, bringing the base depth to 33 inches, with 36 at the summit. Better yet, the resort announced it is opening the Superior chairlift beginning today for day-use only.

The resort will be open through the Christmas holiday, but with shortened hours. The hill will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25. Nordic trails will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the tubing hill will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Thursday, Nordic trails will be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the tubing hill will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Of course, on Christmas day, you’ll have to find your own way up the mountain since there is no public bus service.
