Pacifico 7 oz. Minis

090c/1242924648-cerveza_pacifico.jpgOne of the perks of working the booze beat (being a lush) at BW is the free promo hooch. At least, that’s what I’ve been imagining. Last Friday was the first time that perk ever, uh … perkulated. Mid-afternoon, I looked up from my computer to find our office manager Shea holding what looked like a men’s shaving kit. Gingerly unzipping the canvas mystery bag I found two mini 7 oz. bottles of Pacifico a press release, a keychain bottle opener and … an unbranded USB drive? (Seriously, do they give those things away like ketchup packets now?)

For those unsure when, exactly, is the proper time to drink a 7 oz. bottle of beer, the press release is loaded with suggestions. “It’s smaller size makes it ideal for ordering in buckets, keeping beer cold longer and bringing to parties and luaus.”

Finally, a beer we can take to luaus!

So, apparently, Pacifico is launching these cheek-pinchable minis in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Louisiana, Texas and Idaho. And interestingly, there are more bars in Boise participating in their special “World’s Smallest Toast” Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. than there are in the vast, Mexican beer swilling state of Texas. Could this mean Boise’s in line to become the next inland Cancun? Lordy, I hope not.

Though, I’m waiting to crack open one of these little pups until Thursday at toast time, if you want to get your paws on a bottle (or bucket) you can stop by any of the following spots:
