The Week in Food

Regular readers know I eat out ALL the time.

It's my job. And it's my personal mission to ensure that we don't lose another local restaurant so I try to support all of them all the time.

How did I spend the last seven days stuffing my face? Don't laugh ... it's a long, long, list:

-SUNDAY: chorizo, croquettas and cans of Bud Light at San Inazio on the Basque Block.

-MONDAY: I know I ate out somewhere because it's been a while since I've been to the grocery store, but I can't remember ...

-TUESDAY: Flying Pie's gourmet night.

-WEDNESDAY: A chocolate crepe for breakfast at Le Cafe de Paris. Italian club, potato salad and a coke at Willi B's (this meal wins best value at just more than $2 thanks to the BW Card). Drinks at Red Feather. Clams and fingersteaks at O'Michael's Pub.

-THURSDAY: A Yen Ching smorgasbord of pork fried rice, steamed rice, Yen Ching chow mein, egg rolls and Mongolian beef.

-FRIDAY: Leftovers for lunch and a slaw burger from O'Michael's Pub for dinner.

-SATURDAY: The Ba-Da-Bing at the new downtown Boise location of Eli's Deli. And a cannoli for dessert. See the aftermath of that below.

-SUNDAY: Bella Aquila for brunch. One heckuva locovore spread for dinner. It was the inaugural monthly meeting for my locovore group. The mission: to make a dish containing at least one local ingredient. Most of the food you see below contains all local ingredients. So fresh. So good.

Today, I have a salad for lunch with veggies from the Saturday market. Then I'm off to the grocery store after work. I don't think my wallet can handle another week like that.
