Boise Co-op Harvest Festival

If you’ve ever wanted to dapple in back alley beer drinking but haven’t wanted to face the scorn of your fellow public drinkers when they find out that you’re hiding a craft microbrew in your brown paper bag, this Sunday is your chance. Organic foodies and locovores will gather in the alley behind the Co-op on Sunday, Sept. 27 from noon to 5 p.m. to sip on hoppy brews from Bittercreek Alehouse and browse harvest goods from more than 20 local farmers, artisans, breweries and wineries at the Boise Co-op Harvest Festival.

In addition to produce from Peaceful Belly Farms, Rice Family Farms and Purple Sage Farms, there will be other treats available from Treasure Valley Salsa, Dream Chocolate and Le Cafe de Paris. Those who want something a little more substantial to compliment their back alley beer guzzling can grab a grass-fed burger for $5 from Alderspring Ranch.

If wine is more your style, stomp on over to the Boise Co-op Wine Shop on Saturday, Set. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27 for the Co-op’s 25th anniversary wine sale. The wine shop’s top 25 best sellers will be marked down 25 percent. Also, if you cart home six or more regularly priced bottles, they’ll knock a cool 15 percent off from your total.
