Today's Burning Question: Quirky Un-Turkey

With Turkey Day lurking just around the corner, those opposed to gobbling up gobblers, like Questionland user Charles B., are starting to talk un-turkey. In a recent post, he asked:

"Alternatives to turkey? I like all the stuff that comes with the turkey, even the gravy. But the turkey itself is booooring at best. Are there any good substitutes? I don't care if they are vegetarian or not. I just want them to feel at least mildly holiday-ish. Any ideas are appreciated."

User Jessi suggested cornish game hens, while user MishMish suggested other forms of fowl—ducks or geese. BW Features editor Deanna Darr took the opportunity to bash the blessed vegetarian miracle that is Tofurkey:

"I would say Tofurkey, but I truly believe that vegetable-based products sculpted to look like meat products are signs that aliens really are among us, and they have senses of humor."

Do you have any non-turkey Thanksgiving main dish traditions? Or just wanna stick up for poor Tofurkey? Head to Questionland.boiseweekly.com and give Charles B. your two cents.
