Talk about jamming a few activities together. Try this one: a cyclocross race, holiday toy drive, fundraiser and costume contest.

It can only describe the Kringle Cross, the final local race of the cyclocross season on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park. Organizers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army’s annual toy drive while racers will be decked out in their holiday costumed best, competing not only for the best time, but the best costume in each race.

Vendors will be on hand, offering soup from Willowcreek Grill and coffee and hot chocolate from Big City Coffee—all proceeds from which will go to the Sarma Paylis fund.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the race, with the first race at noon. For more information, contact Brian Rice at 208-761-5894 or e-mail brianp@catapult3.com.
