Who Needs a Terrain Park and a Mountain Anyway?

What's a rider to do when the single digits stick around without dumping enough to open the hill? Here's a rad idea: have a rail jam in the parking lot of a bar.

Saturday, Dec. 12, Parrilla Grill hosts the first-ever Hyde Park Rail Jam with cash prizes for the top three competitors. The plan is to clear out the cars from the lot behind Parrilla and Bungalow, throw down some rails and truck in snow from Bogus Basin.

Pre-registration is closed for competitors, all of whom had to submit a video proving that they had the skills to get towed in without impaling themselves on a rail. That makes Saturday's event a spectator sport for those of you who expect more out of bar entertainment than the boob tube. There will be a bar set up out back with drink specials on PBR, Sierra Nevada and Red Bull drinks.

Show starts at 4 p.m. Dress warmly and don't forget your ID.
