BW Shuts Its Doors (Calm Down ... It's Just For the Holidays)

If you need a good model to follow on how to run a small business, emulating BW owner/publisher Sally Freeman would be a great idea—especially where her employees are concerned.

Each year between Christmas and New Year's, Freeman shuts the doors at BWHQ and sends all of us home for some well-earned time off. But issues of BW still roll out as scheduled: The 12.23 issue is currently out on stands and the 12.30 and 01.06 issues will be in their happy red boxes on respective dates.

So while your papers will be available when you want them, those of us responsible for getting them ready for you will not be ... for a little while anyway. Most of us left the office on Dec. 23 and none of us will be back in the office until Monday, Jan. 4.

Send us e-mails, and leave us voicemail messages and comments on the Web site and we'll get back to you when we return.

See you all next year!
