Need Something to do Tuesday?

Posted By on Tue, Sep 28, 2010 at 10:05 AM

Once a month in BODO, a fresh-faced group of rebels get together to share beers, laughs and *gasp* leftist politics. Why? Well, as the wise philosophy student once said, "Why not?" It's called Drinking Liberally, and you're invited.

But if you're not as happy-go-lucky as the mythical student, you might say something like, "Why would I want to take part in some podunk drinking club for pinkos? I want my pinko drinking clubs to be nationally affiliated in some way or another."

Well swing and a miss there, Captain Cynic. Drinking Liberally is part of a national network: Living Liberally, which seeks to foster progressive politics through social events such as drinking, crafting, stand-up comedy, film clubs and more. There's even a Shooting Liberally club, for "First Amendment enthusiasts to try their hands at the Second."

And tonight, all you progressive-boozehound, responsible-gun-owning crafters are in luck because Justin Krebs, founder of the organization and author of the new book Living Liberally: 538 Ways to Live, Work and Play Like a Liberal, is swinging by Boise for a chat and a book signing. OMG, you can, like, totally start gushing blue now.

The event kicks off at Solid in BODO at 7 p.m. and is free, free, FREE.
