Furniture Fit For Truman Capote

Posted By on Tue, Nov 2, 2010 at 7:54 AM

Do you spend countless cocktail-fueled afternoons channeling your best Truman Capote, exchanging bitchy one-liners with imaginary Manhattan socialites while reclining on your mid-century modern furniture?

Of course you do. Now your penchant for Capote and impeccable retro decorating taste can get the attention it deserves. Boise Contemporary Theater is seeking vintage furniture and objects d'art to adorn the set for the upcoming production Tru. The play is set in New York circa 1975 and BCT is looking for:

“Any furniture from the 1950's-1980's. Ideally with a modern look (chrome, plastic and glass. Black, white and vibrant colors with little or no pattern).”

Items sought include a lounge chair and ottoman, a dining room table and chairs (with a glass top and chrome or lucite framed table to seat at least six people), a console stereo and objects d’art including colorful vases, pottery and table lamps.

The objects will be needed from Tuesday, Nov. 23, through Saturday, Dec. 18. To loan or donate an item, contact Artistic Director Matthew Cameron Clark at mc@bctheater.org.
