Need Something to do Today?

"Take me out to the ball game / take me out to the crowd ... "

Now that you're singing "buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks / I don't care if I never get back," you might also be thinking about when you can hang up the skis and pull out your bat and ball. That time may still be a few weeks down the road but registration is nigh.

Starting today through Friday, March 11, you can register for for Boise Parks and Rec adult slow-pitch softball leagues.

The men's, women's, coed and seniors' competitive leagues, which are sanctioned by the Amateur Softball Association of America, happen weekday evenings starting in mid-April and run through mid-July at the following parks: Ann Morrison, Cassia, Fort Boise, Ivywild, Sunset, Cassia and Willow Lane Athletic Complex.

Fees vary according to league and you must be 16 or older to register for adult slow-pitch softball. A Sunday coed league for ages 14 and older is also available.

Visit the Parks and Rec website for more information. To register, call 208-608-7650 or stop by the City Recreation office Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

All together now: "For it's one, two, three strikes you're out / at the ooooold baaaaall gaaaaame!"
