Looks like the long-awaited third installment of the Bill and Ted movies is a go ... whether it will go up or down is anyone's guess.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) launched co-stars Keanu Reeves' and Alex Winter's careers (well, Reeves' career anyway), and fans of the first flocked to the sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. There was always chatter about a third film, but things like Johnny Mnemonic, The Devil's Advocate and—what were those other films he did—oh, yeah, The Matrix franchise, kept Reeves busy. Plus, he had the Bill & Ted animated series to voice.

It's sad that George Carlin isn't around to reprise his role as Rufus, but hopefully we'll get to see how Wyld Stallyns' music has changed the world.

Click here to see Reeves' talk about the film at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival.
