Need Something To Do Sunday?

Volcanoes are thrilling. White-hot liquid rock flows like water, churning and bubbling like rapids as ripples of heat distort the air.

They're also f@#$ing dangerous. Lava shooting all over the place like a drunkard with a flamethrower? Might as well tap-dance on the freeway.

Today, you have the chance to experience some of the visual thrill with none of the imminent threat of a horribly painful death.

Head out to Arts West School for the Visual and Performing Arts around 3 p.m. and you can watch or take part in the Molten Metal Pour.

Blank sand slates are available on site to be custom-shaped into molds and filled with molten metal goodness.

The event is FREE to attend. Molds cost $10-$25.
