Need Something To Do Thursday?

If you take a gander at the list of movies coming out this summer, one thing definitely stands out: Another X-Men. Another Kung Fu Panda. Another Cars. Another Hangover. Another Planet of the Apes. Another Captain America. Another Spy Kids. Another Final Destination. Another Harry Potter. Another Conan. And though it isn't explicitly a sequel, another Kevin James movie. It's not likely to be Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, but only because this time, Mr. James will be working as a zookeeper.

Even the non-sequels look a bit familier, like Saving Private Perez.

So if movies are just recycling the same plots and characters and ideas, why can't theater reboot them as well?

Well today, it will. Knock 'Em Dead Dinner Theatre has a new production of The Taming of the Shrew, set in 1959. (The story was also adapted in the 1999 coming-of-age classic, Ten Things I Hate About You, starring the late Heath Ledger.)

The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15-$39. Visit for more info.
