Booze, Bikes and ... Chandeliers?

Ryan Reinke really likes bikes. He can be seen all over Boise on his two-wheeled ride, his yellow Lab running by his side. It's his enthusiasm for biking that prompted Reinke—Boise Fry Company's "general manager ninja"—to co-organize an event to help Boise do-gooders Boise Bicycle Project.

"I just really like what they're doing," Reinke said of BBP. "I like what they do for kids, and I like their direction."

Chandi Incorporated—a boutique chandelier shop, and Anarchy Metal Works teamed up to create one-of-a-kind lighting fixtures made from old bicycle parts. A slew of the creations were on display at this year's Modern Art. Now they're hanging in various restaurants and bars around the city, waiting to be auctioned off and taken home.

A booze cruise/tour of the chandeliers will take place Sunday, June 12. The fun begins at Boise Fry Company (111 Broadway Ave., Ste. 111) at 1 p.m., and then visits Flatbread Community Oven, Fork, Mulligans, Old Chicago and Bittercreek Ale House/Red Feather Lounge, ending at 13th Street Pub in Hyde Park.

Joining in the Sunday cruise won't cost you a dime, and proceeds from the chandelier auction will benefit BBP's Biking to Buy the Building campaign. The event is part of the Pedal for the People festivities—visit for a full event calendar.

For more information on the pedal-powered day-drinking event, contact Reinke at or 208-890-6296. Sorry kids, this event is for the 21-and-older crowd only.
