The average American comsumes 12 pounds of chocolate a year—but that's OK because it's considered the food of the gods. And if it's good enough for them...

Dr. Lauren Fins will speak on Chocolate: Food of the Gods at 7 p.m. as part of the Idaho Botanical Garden's summer lecture series. In addition to learing how to justify a late-night craving for Snickers bars, audience members will get to sample some of the sweet stuff.

Call 208-343-8649 to register for tonight's lecture, to be held in the Meditation Garden. Admission is FREE for IBG members, and regular admission prices apply for nonmembers: $5 adults, $3 seniors, $2 kids 6-12 years old, and FREE for kids younger than 6.
